Phil Walker has been appointed as Editor of the Daily Star, replacing Brian Hitchen who was appointed Editor of the Sunday Express last week.
Walker, who is 50, joined the Daily Star in 1991 as Deputy Editor; prior to this he worked as Deputy Editor at The Daily Mirror for five years. Peter Hill has been appointed Deputy Editor of the Star.
