The new editor of The Guardian will be chosen today following a ballot of the newspaper’s journalists. The final decision will be made by members of the Scott Trust, which owns the paper.
A committee of 7 people will take the journalists’ votes into account, with an announcement expected tomorrow. Peter Preston, current editor of the Guardian is to become the editor-in-chief of The Guardian and The Observer.
