Fans of entertainment channel Dave can now access their favourite shows for the very first time through a brand new iOS app.
The app is based on UKTV’s Dave on Demand PC VoD service and has been created specifically for use on iPads and iPhones. From today, it can be downloaded for free from Apple’s app store and marks the first time that UKTV has made its programming available to viewers via their iOS device.
Ben Hine, UKTV’s director of operations, technology and innovation, commented: “With the 12 million tablets currently in use in the UK increasingly becoming a primary device for viewing content, the Dave app makes our great programmes conveniently accessible to even more viewers. Dave is the first of our free-to-air channels to have an iOS app and over the coming months we will be working towards rolling out apps for Yesterday and Really.”
UKTV launched its Dave, Yesterday and Really On Demand services in Q4 last year and, combined with services on BT Vision and Sky On Demand, total UKTV digital views topped three million in 2012.
