A new national evening paper called the Evening News launched this week in Ireland. The paper, published every weekday, is a tabloid and has a cover price of 60p. The initial print-run was 120,000.
The paper, which is reckoned to have cost around £1.5 million to set up, is printed in Birr, Co Offaly and Ashbourne, Co Meath. Its main offices are in Dublin.
