New Marketing Manager For NME And Melody Maker

IPC Music & Sport has appointed Will Watt as marketing manager for the publisher’s two weekly music titles, NME and Melody Maker. Watt joins IPC from advertising agency Leagas Delaney where he has been account manager for Adidas Europe.
Commenting on the appointment, publisher Neil Robinson says: “In the future our music brands will need to expand into many new areas and Will’s experience of brands such as Adidas and Daewoo will make him a great addition to the team.” IPC is about to relaunch Melody Maker in a glossy A4 format in a bid to halt declining sales (see Music Magazines’ Circulations Continue To Fall).
Watt says: “I have the advantage of already knowing the IPC team and these magazines themselves from previous work at Duckworth Finn Grubb Waters. This presents a great challenge and opportunity for me, beginning with the relaunch of Melody Maker, and I intend to exploit the full potential of both of these flagship titles.”
