New Men’s Mag Aims To Be ‘Different’

John Brown Publishing, publisher of Viz, will be launching a new men’s magazine which claims to be different from other titles in the sector.

Bizarre will cover a range of offbeat subjects which could be described as “weird and wonderful”, including subjects such as voodoo, exorcism and extreme sports. Fiona Jerome, editor, said “We wanted info on weird things even we’d never heard of before, plus news, reviews, interviews and reports, all illustrated with stunning photographs. We wanted it to look as sophisticated as FHM and be as bolshie as Loaded.”

Launching on 20 February the bi-monthly title will be aimed at 18-30 year old ABC1 males and have an initial print run of 175,000, aiming for a settle-down of 75,000. It will have a special launch price of £1, with a regular price of £2.50.
