New New Musical Express
The NME has redesigned its Website (http://www.nme.com) to include expanded online shopping facilities. The site will now focus on daily news, reviews and tour information as well as selling music and concert tickets over the Internet.
The new NME site will have a daily news feed replacing the weekly update of the previous system. Will Parker, director of nme.com believes that this service will result in more readers visiting the site therefore providing a larger audience for their advertisers.
An augmented review section allows readers to give their opinions on the week’s releases and there is also access to the review archives. Featured CDs will be available to buy directly from the site.
The nme.com site will announce the results of its first ABC audit shortly; current advertisers include Ford, Kellogg’s and Polydor.
