New Satellite Channels For BBC

According to press speculation the BBC is planning to launch 3 new satellite channels on Astra 1d next year – one news channel, one children’s and one documentary. It is thought that all channels will take advertising. Additionally the BBC has been in talks with UK Gold investors; Thames, Cox Enterprises and TCI with regard to a women’s lifestyle channel. UK Gold confirmed talks had been going on for several weeks, but that nothing solid had come out of them as yet.
