New Teenage Girls Magazine To Replace Look In!
IPC Magazines Southbank Group is to launch a new monthly magazine aimed at 8-14 year old girls. Called now!, the title launches on March 16, priced at £1.25, with an intial print run of 150,000. Look in! will close on March 12. Look in!’s ABC for Jul-Dec 1993 was 53,100.
The new magazine responds to IPC research which shows that the market has changed dramatically, making Look in dated. now! will feature posters, interviews, puzzles, gossip, fashion and problems.
Frank Hopkinson, currently editor of My Guy and Look in! will be editor of now! He commented, “It satisfies every need of the 8 to 14 year old girl reader”. now! will have four magazines in one; a 16-page giant poster, a 32-page magazine, an 8-page pull-out puzzle magazine and an 8-page pull-out gatefold poster.

Homemaker, the home interest title from Ascent Publishing due to launch in March has had its launch postponed until the Autumn due to the economic situation not improving as rapidly as had been expected.
