New Teletext Service In HTV Area – And New Rates For ’95

Teletext has split its HTV service into two, one serving the West, the other serving Wales, providing local news, sport and business updates for both parts of the region. The changes were required by the ITC but need not have been made until 1998. Adult viewers in HTV is put at 1.14 million (NOP Oct 93 – Sept 94). Rates are still quoted for the HTV region as a whole.

National rates for source pages are increased from £3,000 per week to £3,500 (16% increase); extra frames go up to £350 from £300 (also 16%) for 1-3 extra frames. London rates are £860 for a source page (up from £750) and £580 for Central, Granada, Yorkshire or Meridian (was £500).

Interleaf spaces, ads that flip up automatically between editorial pages cost up to £8,500 (£7,500).
