New Tricks Proves To Be A Winner Again

New Tricks BBC One raced ahead of the competition yesterday, gaining the largest audience share all day with its popular Olympics coverage, as well as in the evening with Eastenders and New Tricks.

The penultimate episode of New Tricks banked more than nine million peak viewers, with an average 36% audience share, between 9pm and 10pm.

Eastenders also pulled in over nine million viewers with a massive 39% audience share between 8pm and 8.30pm.

Meanwhile, ITV1 peaked with its top soaps, Emmerdale and Coronation Street – the only break from BBC One’s leading audience share throughout the day and evening.

However, ITV1’s Superhuman Genius special programme failed to impress with only 3.3 million average viewers during the 9pm to 10pm peak slot, coming behind BBC Two’s Dragon’s Den, which attracted 3.5 million.

Channel 4 only peaked in the last 15 minutes of the daily Big Brother show, which gained an average 2.8 million viewers and a 15% audience share throughout the hour-long programme from 10pm.
