BBC One’s New Tricks pulled in more than eight million viewers last night, with an average 34% audience share between 9pm and 10pm.
The third in the series of the popular crime drama, starring Alun Armstrong and Amanda Redman, raced ahead of other 9pm peak programmes, including the new series of Dragons’ Den.
BBC Two’s Dragons’ Den attracted an average 14.7% audience share, with a peak of 3.9 million viewers in the last 15 minutes of the show between 9.45 and 10pm.
The return of the business challenge series, with Peter Jones and Duncan Bannatyne, saw pitches from investment hopefuls including a rock band from Cambridge.
ITV1’s Police, Camera, Action came just behind BBC Two in the ratings war, with an average 14.5% audience share and 3.3 million viewers.
Channel 4’s new series, Can’t Read, Can’t Write, about nine adults with literacy difficulties gained a 6.2% audience share with 1.4 million viewers.
