New TV Campaign For Computeractive

New TV Campaign For Computeractive

VNU Business Publications is launching a new promotional TV campaign for its Computeractive magazine, beginning on 7 April. The campaign continues the theme of the ads which were shown last Autumn (see Computer Magazine Activates Advertising).

As part of the £650,000 push, issues 30 and 31 of Computeractive are to have free booklets distributed with the magazine. The first is called Getting On The Internet and the second is Mastering The Internet. VNU says the packages will be produced in a unique folder to attract impulse buyers.

Computeractive is currently circulating at 223,000 copies per fortnight, making it the UK’s biggest-selling PC magazine. VNU believes that this TV campaign will drive up sales even further. Media buying and planning were handled by Mediacom/TMB.

Separately, Cabal Communications is planning a covermounted video for the May edition of its procycling title, which launched earlier in the month (see First Issue Review – Procycling). The 25 minute film documents American Tour de France star Lance Armstrong’s comeback from cancer.
