News International In Multi-Package Sponsorship Deal

News International has signed the first ever multiple programme sponsorship package, in a deal with four top game shows. The package begins with the Sun’s sponsorship of Wheel of Fortune at 8pm on Monday 11 July. The programme will run on Monday nights for the next 23 weeks.

Other game shows in the deal are Family Fortunes, Go Bingo and Play Your Cards Right. There will be off-air support through its titles, as with the Sun’s previous sponsorship of Play Your Cards Right. In addition the company will be printing and distributing over 500 million game cards.

David Prosser, Deputy Chairman of the ITV Sponsorship Committee, said, “This deal is significant to the ITV Network not only because it’s the first package of sponsored programmes, but as it is also a repeat of the Play Your Cards Right sponsorship.”
