The News of the World is set to relaunch its website next week, with a new football blog section dedicated to each Premier League club.
The new look website will also feature more video content, add new templates and incorporate an improved search function, according to reports.
Football fans and fanzine editors from unofficial club websites will have the chance to write blog entries for their favourite teams, as each Premier club will have its own individual section.
The blogs will run alongside reports from the newspaper’s sports team when the new site launches at the start of the football season on August 10.
Gary Thomspon, associate editor of News of the World, told The Guardian: “At the very least we will have posts [from fans] over the course of the weekend before and after games to make our coverage comprehensive, but it will be set up in such a way that they can file at any time – it will be a rolling thing.”
The relaunch was sparked by the website moving to a new content management system, called Escenic, which is also currently being used to run Times Online and Sun Online.
