News UK Commercial appoints two senior sales roles

Jane Putley will join News UK as head of news at the end of the year.

News UK Commercial has appointed The Express’ Jane Putley as head of news and ITV’s Donia Dacey as head of solutions as the publisher looks to strengthen advertiser relationships and increase multi-platform engagement.

Putley, who has 20 years’ experience with The Express, most recently as group trading director, will be responsible for leading the sales teams for The Sun, Times and Sunday Times across all platforms. She will report into new trading director Chris Amor.

Dacey, who also has over 20 years’ of experience in the industry, was ITV’s creative sales controller and will be responsible for creating commercial content-led campaigns and generating greater commercial revenue.

Reporting into sales director Karin Seymour, Dacey will manage the creative output of the team to ensure that News UK is “industry-leading”.

“Between them Jane and Donia bring a wealth of experience from newspapers, TV and magazines to Chris and Karin’s teams respectively and will be a great asset to News UK Commercial,” said commercial director Dominic Carter.

“They will play a key role in developing our relationship with both advertisers and customers whilst increasing multi-platform engagement and sales across the commercial team.”

Dacey started in her role at the end of May, with Putley set to join News UK at the end of the year.
