Newspaper NRS Figures – October
The latest NRS figures released yesterday reveal that amongst the daily broadsheets the Times and FT were the only titles to register increased readerships. 12-month figures show that the Times‘s readership has gone up by over 12% year on year while the FT‘s has grown by over 8%. It was a similar picture in the Sunday broadsheet sector, with only the Sunday Times increasing its readership: in October it grew by 2.89% to 3.941 million.
The Daily Mail had the biggest increase in readership among all national newspapers in October, with an increase of 17% to 5.241m, in contrast to the Express which experienced a drop of 6.75%.
The tabloid market continues to see an overall decline. The Daily Star recorded the biggest drop, falling 7.1% to 2.014m, while the Sunday Mirror had the largest drop amongst the Sunday tabloids, falling 4.29% to 7.334m.
