Newspaper Society Appoints Ross For Presentations

The Newspaper Society’s latest recruit is Charles Ross, previously marketing manager at Midland Independent Newspapers. Ross joined the Newspaper Society on Wednesday as development manager; he will head the campaign to raise awareness of the regional press as an advertising medium.

Once Ross has appointed a team of five, he will embark on a programme of 200 presentations to advertisers and agencies during 1996. Other initiatives include setting up forums with publishers, sales houses and agencies for the Society to act as a catalyst for industry initiatives, and to establish better communications channels amongst the industry.

Ross said, “The regional press is at the early stages of a renaissance … it is an exciting opportunity and a great challenge.”

Chris Stanley, marketing director, said, “This is an extremely important appointment and I’m delighted Charles is joining us. He has all the right qualities.”
