Newsquest Develops On-Line Auctioning

The regional newspaper group Newsquest has announced plans to launch an internet auction service.

The group intends to begin its internet auction trials within a fortnight, and eventually to roll the venture out across the UK within the next few months. Initially, small items will be auctioned on-line, and if the service is successful it will extend to larger items – cars, for example.

The venture will from part of a series of local internet guides to the group. A percentage of the price paid for auctioned items will go to Newsquest.
