Marcus Plantin, ITV Network controller, has appointed Nick Elliot as the next Controller of Drama. Outgoing controller of Drama and Entertainment, Vernon Lawrence will finalise the programming for the 1996 drama season. Mr Elliot is currently the Head of Drama Series at BBC Television and will join the ITV Network centre in the summer. His initial brief will be to begin commissioning drama projects for the 1997 schedule.
