IPC has launched an NME app for iPhones and iPods.

The app allows users to select their favourite artists and recieve up-to-date information alerts regarding them.

It will also provide a number of other services, including  ticket listings, news, video interviews and exclusive photograhs.

The application will cost £1.19 – by comparison, a digital copy of the magazine costs £1.75.

According to the latest ABC figures, NME average circulation fell 17.5% year-on-year for the first half of 2010 to 33,875.

This was the biggest percentage loss for all publications in the music magazine category.
