NME Radio is set to launch on national DAB for an eight month trial period starting tomorrow.

The station, which is operated under a licence from IPC by Xfm founder Sammy Jacob’s audiovisual company DX Media, launched on Sky, Virgin Media and NME.com in June 2008.

The radio station has been available in London on DAB but will now increase its availability across the UK.

Jacob, NME Radio’s managing and programming director, said: “Since launch, NME Radio has strived to increase distribution with constant requests for the station to be made available nationally on DAB. We are therefore delighted with this development as it will significantly increase the opportunity to listen to the station across the country.

“NME Radio is extremely passionate about the music it plays, especially the promotion of great new acts. Being able to share that passion with a wider audience will make it all the more worthwhile.”
