UKTV, the Channel 5 bidder headed by CanWest, has failed in its attempt to bring its rejected application for judicial review.
The High Court in its judgement decided that the Virgin TV proceedings would deal with ‘all the central issues being contested by UKTV, and that separate proceedings would be unnecessary’.
UKTV was the highest bidder amongst C5 applicants, but failed on the ‘quality’ threshold.
The Virgin TV application to the High Court is expected to be heard next January.
