No VAT On Publishing

In the chancellor’s budget speech this afternoon, he announced that there was to be no VAT on published material.

He stressed that no amount of lobbying would have affected his decision either way, thus pointing out that in his decision not to introduce VAT on publishing he was not bowing to public opinion and pressure.
