Northcliffe Launches ‘This Is Lincolnshire’

Northcliffe Electronic Publishing (NEP), the new media division of Northcliffe Newspapers, has launched This Is Lincolnshire, the latest in its series of This Is… websites.

The site is hosted by Northcliffe’s Lincolnshire Echo and provides the Lincolnshire community with ‘interactive entertainment and online business opportunities’.

Northcliffe has been quick to augment its regional newspaper publishing business in order to use opportunities presented by the internet. The This Is… sites are constructed around a ‘hub’ business directory which provides details and location maps of thousands of local businesses. These are accessed by both users and advertisers, says NEP.

Malcolm Pheby, managing director of Lincolnshire Echo Group Newspapers, says: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with so many organisations and businesses to make the vision of a virtual community a reality.”

NEP recently struck a deal with multimedia retailer Internet Movie and Video Shop (iMVS) to provide online shopping facilities across the This Is… network (see Northcliffe Drives Online Shopping Via ‘This Is…’ Sites).
