Northcliffe Newspapers Launches New Community Websites

Northcliffe Newspapers Group has launched two new community-based websites under its expanding This Is brand. This Is Plymouth and This Is Leicestershire are hosted by the two Northcliffe titles Plymouth Evening Herald and Leicester Mercury.

The two new sites can be found at http://www.thisisplymouth.co.uk/ and http://www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk.

The company is planning to roll out 17 This Is ‘digital communities’ across the UK by mid-1999. The Evening Standard hosts a similar site for the capital called This Is London. Associated Newspapers, publisher of the Evening Standard, is a sister company of Northcliffe’s,

All the This Is sites use Real Media’s Open AdStream advertising management software which is designed to target specific banner ads at specific sets of users. Banner ads can be booked across all This Is sites through Real Media’s centralised booking service.
