Northcliffe Publishes Research On Westcountry Publications

Northcliffe Newspapers, the regional newspaper publishing group, has released the results of an NOP research survey which examines its Exeter Express & Echo and Torquay Herald Express titles.

It claims that the Express & Echo now reaches an average daily audience of 93,000 or 44% of adults in the area while 35,000 adults in the area rely solely on the Express & Echo and do not read a national daily title at all. The Torquay Herald reaches an average daily audience of 86,000 adults and 37,000 adults do not read a national daily title.

In terms of profile a single insertion in the Express & Echo will reach 3,000 more ABC1 adults, and the Torquay Herald 14,000 more ABC1 adults, in their respective areas than a campaign across all the national broadsheets.

The survey also found that more than five times as many people responded to an ad in the Herald Express and more than three times as many to an ad in the Express & Echo, than to advertising in any other medium.
