The survey showed that Scotland, Borders and Ulster make up only 9.5% of the online population, Yorkshire 8.3%, the East 7.1% and the North East just 4.5%. The Midlands and the North West are catching up with the capital, representing 15.5% and 12.3% respectively, while 11.1% of UK internet users reside in Wales or the West.

The survey also looked at the most visited global domains in the UK. Search engines or portals came out on top, with the BBC making an exception as the eighth favourite.
