Now Celebrity Spin-off Goes Quarterly

Following its decision last week to axe six titles including Women’s Journal (see IPC Closes Six Magazines), IPC has announced that it is to increase the frequency of Now spin-off Now Star Style and make it a regular stand-alone brand.

The magazine, which includes includes features on celebrity hair, beauty, accessories and interiors was originally launched as part of the Now Specials series in 1998, which had built up a circulation of 160,864 by the last set of ABC results. IPC describes the series as providing a “themed environment for advertisers to extend their existing campaigns whilst having the opportunity to explore tactical ideas.”

The magazine, the next issue of which goes on sale on 26 November for six weeks, priced £1.95, follows the growing trend for celebrity titles, which has seen the growing popularity of titles including Hello!, OK! and Heat, as well as the launches of Celebrity Bodies and InStyle.
