NRS And JICREG Fail To Agree Terms

NRS has said that it has been unable to agree a basis upon which JICREG would use its database to compare readership of national with regional titles.

According to NRS JICREG is unwilling to make available any description of its modelling process, on the grounds that it is of high commercial value. The NRS board says it finds this position unacceptable and at variance with normal industry practice since it believes advertisers, agencies and competitive media are entitled to expect an adequate description of methodologies in order to make comparisons between titles. JICREG were unavailable for comment at the time of going to press.

No further discussions between the two parties are planned.
