NRS To Reissue Data
NRS has today announced that it is reissuing its data for the months of July, August, September and October.
The reason for this is that since July NRS has been piloting a new questionnaire which included information on supplement readership which was used on half the sample size, while the original questionnaire was used for the other half. While the new supplement data is not yet ready for use, the data gathered on these new questionnaires regarding existing newspapers and magazines shows no statistically differences from the original questionnaire; since the half data sample necessarily shows wider sample variations than the full data sample, NRS will be merging the two data halves for existing newspapers and magazines.
NRS says that the reissued data produces no significant changes in AIR data at the 95% confidence level but it does provide more robust data for users to analyse. Publication of data for future periods will now be based on the full sample and the publication of three-month data, which using a half sample was not statistically sound, will now resume.
