NRS Withdraws First Section Survey

National Readership Survey has decided to withdraw its first survey into national newspaper section readership due to anomalies being discovered in the results. It is thought that these occurred due to bias in the responses.

Roger Pratt, managing director of NRS, told Newsline that a six-month second test was now underway which would run until the end of October. Data from this will be available for analysis around November/December time though it will take a period of time to evaluate for its robustness. It is hoped that this data will be published early next year.
