NS Appoints New Marketing Chairman For Drive Into 2000

The Newspaper Society has appointed Tom Stevenson, managing director of Eastern Counties Newspapers Ltd., as chairman of its marketing strategy group. He replaces Charles Brims who completed his term of office at the end of 1997.

The Society is confident that Stevenson will continue its recent ‘reinvigorated’ market effort. This is to include continued promotion of regional press in the national marketplace and support for regional publishers at a local level.

Stevenson says: “The regional newspaper industry is facing challenges – and opportunities – as it approaches the year 2000. The Newspaper Society is keen to provide valuable marketing support to members and customers of our industry”.
