NTL And TiVo Team Up For Promotion

NTL and TiVo have announced a deal to promote TiVo digital video recorders to NTL’s cable TV customers in the UK. The service will be available from Monday 1 July via a dedicated sales support line.

TiVo’s digital video recorders, launched in the UK in October 2000, allow viewers to digitally record and store programmes and to pause or fast forward live TV- a concept unappealing to TV advertisers. It is compatible with terrestrial, cable and Sky digital methods of reception, and counts BSkyB among its partners (see TiVo Plans £4m Marketing Campaign For July).

In May this year the Californian company, TiVo Inc. announced that its revenues had tripled year on year for the first quarter of 2002, while its subscriber base has seen a 124% increase over the year.
