NTL Fills Top Marketing Role

NTL has appointed its director of content, Jeremy Davies, to its top marketing position as part of a further restructure at the cable company.

Davies, who has been at NTL for over a year, becomes the director of marketing responsible for all customer contact and commercial communications activity. He will also oversee all of NTL’s brand marketing activity, as well as its portals and online operations.

Prior to joining NTL, Davies is understood to have worked for advertising agency J Walter Thompson. His appointment follows the departure of brand director, Bart Michels and commercial chief, Richard Harris, who left the company following the latest round of cutbacks.

Earlier this year NTL announced a restructure of its business into regional teams and reportedly cut its central marketing team from 55 people to 8 people in an attempt to reduce costs. The role of top marketer Mike Hounsell, who spent three years at the company, was cut as part of the overhaul (see NTL Streamlines Central Marketing).
