NTL is launching a new cross-platform “Love Channel” as part of the relaunch of its ntlworld portal.
The channel, which will be unveiled in time for Valentine’s Day, will run throughout February on NTL’s revamped portal site and digital TV network in a cross-network promotion of its cable services.

The channel, which features interactive games and an SMS service, ties in with the relaunched ntlworld.com portal, which has been revamped to offer users improved content and site navigation, as well as a dedicated broadband area to support NTL’s broadband cable customers.
Director of content at NTL Homes, Jeremy Davies, said: “Our revamped ntlworld portal provides dial-up and broadband customers with a new internet experience. And with the launch of our dedicated Love Channel, we are able to demonstrate cable’s cross-platform capability to customers, content providers and advertisers.”
Last month NTL announced plans to rent space on its broadband access network to rival companies in a bid to clear its mounting debt burden. The company is currently holding talks with Freeserve and AOL and is thought to be offering a wholesale broadband product to run alongside its own branded service (see NTL To Offer Wholesale Broadband).
