Nynex 2nd Quarter Statistics
Nynex CableComms PLC and Nynex CableComms Group Inc have announced 2nd quarter operating statistics for the period ended 30 June 1995. Interim financial figures are expected to be released on Tuesday 8th August 1995.
Residential telecommunications lines have increased by over 35,000 in the quarter, five times as many as were added in the same quarter last year; cable television customers have increased by over 16,000 compared to the 9,000 added in the same quarter of 1994.
In terms of penetration, residential telecommunications increased to 22.5% this quarter from 20.8% at 31 March 1995, and from 19.6% at 30 June 1994. Cable television basic penetration increased to 18.8% at 30 June 1995 from 18.4% for the same period in 1994. Cable Television basic penetration is down from 19.0% at 31 March 1995 due to a decrease in Derby, while the North West, London Area and the South Coast remained stable for the quarter. Cable television churn reduced to 28.6% from 32.1% at 31 March 1995; from 31.1% at 31 December 1994; and from 38.5% for the comparable twelve month period to 30 June 1994.
