NYNEX Results Show Continued Growth

NYNEX CableComms Group PLC today released its unaudited operating statistics and financial results for the quarter ended 31 March 1997.

Total revenue increased by 43% to £46.5 million for the quarter, with residential telephony revenue increasing 43% to £21.2 million, cable television revenue increasing 34% to £19.1 million and business telephony increasing a massive 92% to £4.6 million.

The network build-out continued steadily with 1,788,068 premises now having been passed. Cable television customers increased by 34% to 283,720 at the end of the quarter which gives a penetration of 18.1% and the churn rate decreased to 27.2% from 30.1% on the same period last year.

NYNEX CableComms is one of the largest providers of integrated cable television and telecommunications services in the UK and provide these services in 16 franchise areas, covering approximately 2.7 million homes and 153,000 businesses.
