O2 Media appoints Nick Pestell as head of agency sales

O2 Media has bolstered its media team with the appointment of Nick Pestell, the former head of agency sales at Yahoo!, as its head of agency sales.

In his new role he will work closely with Gary Cole, the commercial director at O2 Media, and will be responsible for managing agency sales for the business – to ensure mobile is effectively utilised in agencies and clients’ media plans.

Pestell has eleven years of digital media experience working at companies including Media Planning Group and Agency Republic.

Cole said: “Nick has a huge amount of experience in media, both on the sales and agency side – he is great appointment for us. Our key agency partners are now investing heavily in mobile solutions and it is becoming a hugely important part of clients’ media plans. Nick’s experience can help agencies get the very best out of O2 More, which now has well over two million opted-in users.”

Pestell added: “I am thrilled to be joining O2 Media, working with Gary and the team to establish the role of mobile within the marketing mix.  We have enormous potential to work with agencies and clients, testing new ways in which to reach, inspire and understand consumers.  There is a genuine desire amongst agencies to further explore the benefits and prove the effectiveness of a channel, which provides pinpoint accuracy on a mass scale.”

O2 Media recently announced that its personalised media service, O2 More, has reached more than two million customers since its launch in November 2009.
