Observer In Business Upheaval

New editor of the Observer, Jonathan Fenby, is causing upheaval at the Sunday paper, according to a spokesperson at the paper speaking to MediaTel this morning.

Recent speculation that the paper will revamp its business section next month following the resignation of city editor Melvyn Marckus, is still being considered by the paper, with successor Mick Smith believed to be initiating both design and editorial revamps.

The buyout of the Observer by the Guardian went through in May, after a steady decline in sales from 750,000 five years ago to around 530,000.
