Observer Sees A New Editor
The Scott Trust, owner of The Observer , yesterday announced a new editor in the form of Roger Alton.
Alton was previously the features editor of The Guardian, where he has worked in various roles for the past 24 years. He replaces Will Hutton, who has now become editor in chief of The Observer and remains a writer and columnist on the paper.
Roger Alton said today: “It is a great honour to take on the editorship of The Observer. Some of the finest journalists around work for the paper and it’s a privilege to take on this challenging position with my new colleagues.”
