Observer Turnaround Begins

Guardian and Observer advertising sales manager, Carolyn McCall, was unavailable for comment today over speculation that the Observer magazine is to undergo a revamp at the end of this month, the first major change since the Guardian take-over in May.

Reports suggest that the magazine will undo all the changes made during October’s revamp, including reverting back from an upmarket perfect binding to saddle stitching.

Following last year’s relaunch the paper showed an increase in sales from 527,931 in September to a more favourable 586,594 in October.
