Observer Unveils Monthly Food Title

The Observer has announced plans for the launch of another monthly glossy magazine, following the success of Observer Sport Monthly (see Observer Rewrites Sport With Monthly Title). A food title called Observer Food Monthly will be available free with the Observer on the second Sunday of each month from early summer.

A 68-page tabloid format, it will look at all aspects of food and drink with interviews, features and celebrity columnists. It will be edited by Lucy Cavendish, former features writer for the Daily Telegraph.

Marc Sands, marketing director of Guardian Newspapers Limited (GNL) said: “GNL has always been at the forefront of product innovation and the launch last year of OSM was a major part of the turnaround the Observer has undergone in the last 18 months. OFM will be lifestyle meets food meets celebrity, and with such a broad appeal, will like OSM bring a significant number of new readers to the paper.”
