OK! In Company Promotion

OK! magazine is to be given away free with January’s edition of Company in a promotion designed to raise the profile of both magazines.
A special 88-page edition of OK! has been created for Company readers and will be packaged with the magazine, which will sell at its normal cover price of £1.50.

Natmags’ new publishing director for the young women’s group, Justine Southall, has been charged with raising the profile of Company, which saw circulation drop by 3.2% year on year to 223,121 in the last set of ABC results (see
Natmags took the decision to cut Company‘s cover price in September (see Natmags Cuts Company’s Cover Price) to cope with increasing competition in the women’s sector generated by the arrival of Glamour, which launched with great success in March (see Handbag-Sized Glamour Proves Big Success).
OK! saw circulation rise by 43.1% in the last set of ABC results after millions of copies of the magazine were sold for 1p as part of a promotion with the Daily Express. As a result the ABC abolished the rule allowing publishers to sell magazines at a minimum price of 1p, increasing the amount to 20% of the cover price. (see ABC Amends Minimum Price Rule)
