OK! To Provide Content For Open

OK Magazine is to supply content to interactive channel Open TV. Viewers will be able to access exclusive gossip and previously unreleased coverage of celebrities. The interactive element will be provided in the form of celebrity quizzes and opportunities to compete for prizes. The deal will also see Open become major advertisers within the print version of OK.

This is not the first time the magazine has brought its content to the screen, as last December ITV screened the first OK!TV show (see ITV To Launch OK Masthead), attracting 7.2m viewers. It was also involved in a Talk Radio broadcast in January last year called OK to Talk (see Newsline Brief). The ITV show, which took advantage of new rules from the ITC regarding masthead programmes on terrestrial channels (see ITC Revises Masthead Programming Code) is expected to return for a second series later in the year.

Around 1.6m people are said to access Open each week. The latest ABC figures gave Northern and Shell’s OK! a weekly circulation of 551,901, ahead of its rival, Hello!, which has 495,349 readers per week.
