OK!’S ABC Adjusted By 23%

The Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC) has announced that OK!’s Jul-Dec 1993 ABC figure, its first audited figure, was overstated by some 30% (28,233) copies, with initial estimations putting the true figure at around 93,446.

The inaccuracy was uncovered during routine checks on the Jan-Jun 1994 audit report. The ABC discovered the inaccuracy in the unsolds provision used by Northern and Shell’s previous auditors, Reed Taylor. ABC has ordered an immediate re-audit of the figure to establish a correct Jul-Dec 1993 figure.

A revised certificate for the July to December 1993 period, along with the Jan-Jun certificate should be released shortly, ABC says.
