The Oldie, the magazine aimed at the elderly is to close on August 5. The fortnightly title, which launched in February 1992, was unable to survive financially after circulation stuck at around 20,000.
Dennis Publishing is to close Windows Magazine from September. Despite a circulation of over 50,000, the title is to be closed so that Dennis can concentrate on the launch of a new PC title later this year. Details are not yet available, but the title will be a mass-market general PC title, likely to rival PC Magazine and Personal Computer Magazine.
Emap’s Carweek is to be redesigned again, for the second time in less than a year. The motoring weekly will reduce its size to A4 from 27 July. It will be the same size as rivals Auto Express and Autocar & Motor.
HHL has sold the football title Matchday to specialist transport publisher Ian Allan.
