Omnicom Buys MGM
Omnicom is currently negotiating a buyout of Manning Gottlieb Media for around £12m.
Omnicom, which has interests in Abbott Mead Vickers and TBWA, is understood to have beat Carat in a battle to control MGM. MGM is now 60% owned by Omnicom, with the remaining 40% being evenly split between its two partners Nick Manning and Colin Gottlieb. The agency is expected to retain its branding and individual identity, though links with Omnicom’s other UK interests, which include New PHD and BMP Optimum, are thought to be likely.
