Omnicom Takes Stake In Aegis

Omnicom is to pay £15m for a 9% stake in Aegis, the Carat parent company. The move is part of a major refinancing package designed to raise more than £60m of new equity. Omnicom claims that the deal has no implications for The Media Partnership, its European joint venture with WPP, although TMP and Aegis are direct competitors.
Publicis has acquired the FCA network in an equity exchange deal. FCA will retain its autonomy. However, the deal is believed to call into question the future of FCA London, which will be decided by the end of the year.
