By the closing date for applications, the ITC had received one application for the local delivery franchise of Ayr.
The applicant is Ayrshire Cable and Telecoms Ltd, a company backed by the US Cable Corporation and its affiliates, McNicholas Construction Ltd, Metro Group Ltd and Morgan Cable Ltd. The application proposes to offer the service to 118,600 homes in Ayrshire by the end of the year 2004. The cash bid is £151,808.
The ITC is now evaluating this application and will announce its decision by the summer.
